What causes a hangover?
When you drink, it's your liver's job to pull the alcohol out of your bloodstream, break it down, and discard it. The break down happens in two stages and during second stage, alcohol is transformed into Acetaldehyde, the toxin that causes hangover symptoms. When you go to bed, your body is fighting this toxin. And because alcohol is a diuretic, your body is dehydrated and low on B-Vitamins. Your liver is also not working efficiently because of the overtime break down work it's been putting in.
